How to set the time and date on the newly installed Switchee

The Switchee device should automatically set the time and date via a connection to the mobile phone network. In areas of low or no connectivity (GSM), a connection to the mobile phone network is not always possible and as such this article details how to check and reset the time & date on a Switchee device.

In areas of low/no connectivity, or, in the event of a power cut or a clock change, the time & date will likely need adjusting using these instructions.

Please note that if the signal in the property is poor (difficult to obtain mobile phone signal) or the GSM of a device is regularly below 15 the time & date is likely to be wrong regularly, and the below will only be effective if the device has regular, strong, signal.

How to check the time & date

  1. Tap on the spanner symbol in the top left corner of the Switchee.

  2. Underneath the title of Settings at the top, check the time & date currently set on the device.
  3. Then check what firmware the device is on by tapping on Status.

How to change time & date settings on a Switchee running 2.5.0 firmware and above

If a device fails to connect to the mobile network, and has an inaccurate time & date as diagnosed in the step above, you can manually set the time & date using the steps below;

  1. Go to the Settings menu, accessed by pressing the spanner symbol in the top left of the Switchee display.

  2. Press Next once to find Manually set time/date.
  3. Enter the time in the format HH/MM and select Done in the bottom right.
    If you make a mistake, please use the DEL key on the right of the screen.

  4. Enter a date in the format of DD/MM/YY and select Done in the bottom right.
    If you make a mistake, please use the DEL key on the right of the screen.

  5. Check the time & date is now showing correctly by pressing the Spanner symbol in the top left. The time & date show beneath the Settings menu.

How to change time and date settings on a Gen2 Switchee running 1.14.0 Firmware

 

  1. Go to the Settings menu, accessed by pressing the Spanner symbol in the top left of the Switchee display.

  2. Press Next twice to find the Admin menu.
  3. Choose Admin, and use the passcode of 0123 to gain access (please note you are able to gain access to the admin menu on any Switchee device using the code 0123).
  4. Press the Next button once to find the Admin menu option saying Manual system time/date.
