How do I set the time and date on a Switchee smart thermostat?
Setting the time and date
A Switchee is a connected device and should automatically set the time and date via a connection to the mobile cellular network. In areas of low or no connectivity, a connection to the mobile cellular network is not always possible and as such this article details how to check and reset the time & date on a Gen2 Switchee.
Furthermore, in an area of low / no connectivity and in the event of a power cut or a clock change, the time and date will likely need adjusting using these instructions.
How to check the time and date
- Tap on the Spanner symbol in the top left corner of the Switchee to access the settings menu.

- Underneath the title of ‘Settings’ at the top, check the time and date currently set on the device.
- Then check what firmware the device is on by tapping on ‘‘Status’.

How to change time and date settings on a Gen2 Switchee running 2.5.0 firmware
In the event a device fails to connect to the mobile cellular network, and therefore has an inaccurate time and date as diagnosed in the step above, you can manually set the time and date using the steps below;
- Go to the Settings menu, accessed by pressing the Spanner symbol in the top left of the Switchee display.

- Press ‘Next’ once to find ‘Manually set time/date.
- Enter the time in the format HH/MM and select ‘Done’ in the bottom right.
If you make a mistake, please use the ‘DEL’ key on the right of the screen.
- Enter a date in the format of DD/MM/YY and select ‘Done’ in the bottom right.

- Check the time and date is now showing correctly by pressing the Spanner symbol in the top left,and you should see the date and time below the title of ‘Settings’
How to change time and date settings on a Gen2 Switchee running 1.14.0 Firmware
- Go to the Settings menu, accessed by pressing the Spanner symbol in the top left of the Switchee display.

- Press ‘Next’ twice to find the ‘Admin’ menu.
- Choose ‘Admin’, and use the passcode of 0123 to gain access.
- Press the ‘Next’ button once to find the Admin menu option saying ‘Manual system time/date’.

- Enter the time in the format HH/MM and select ‘Done’ in the bottom right.
If you make a mistake, please use the ‘DEL’ key on the right of the screen.
- Enter a date in the format of DD/MM/YY and select ‘Done’ in the bottom right.
If you make a mistake, please use the ‘DEL’ key on the right of the screen.
- To double check this has worked, press the Spanner symbol in the top left, and you should see the date and time below the title of ‘Settings’.
