How do I download Switchee data?

Switchee self-serve data

Switchee provides users with the functionality to export property data and insights via the portal for use with third party analytics tools. The data available will be up until midnight the previous day to the report request as the Switchee data table updates to the cloud on a daily basis. You may see more devices on the portal homepage compared to your downloaded reports because the portal presents your real time data and any new installations/ changes happening whilst you are logged into the portal. You can find the self-serve export report under the navigation link “Reports” on the top left of the portal homepage.

The report is named “Export data report”. If this is not visible on your login, please speak to your Switchee Customer Success Manager.

What will the report provide?

There are four sections to the self-serve data report. Each section can be accessed through the tabs at the bottom of the reports page.

How do I download the data? 

Each table can be exported as an .xlsx or. csv file including all data visible, by hovering over the table and clicking the three dots then click “Export data”.

This option is only available if your user profile has permission enabled.

If you are unable to see this option contact your Switchee customer success manager.

While exporting, the system has a row limit of 150,000 for a single export. This should not be an issue unless you are attempting to view daily insights for a large period of time, for a large amount of properties. In these cases, smaller exports using different context periods and combining the resulting .xlsx files is recommended.

The information below contains details relating to the data available via the self-serve data download report, including table descriptions, field names, field descriptions and data types.

Properties

This table details information Switchee captures with every Switchee installation. Each row corresponds to a unique property with a Switchee installed, providing key details such as location, installation date, and specific property attributes. This mimics the properties endpoint of the client API.

Insights (Daily)

This table summarises daily performance metrics for each Switchee property. Each row represents one day of data for a specific property, consolidating key aggregated insights such as temperature, humidity, risk levels and other relevant metrics.

Insights (Weekly)

This table summarises the aggregated daily performance metrics over a calendar week for each Switchee property. Each row represents one calendar week of data for a specific property, facilitating a broader view of property performance trends.

Insights (Monthly)

This table summarises the aggregated daily performance metrics over a calendar month for each Switchee property. Each row represents one calendar month of data for a specific property, facilitating a broad view of property performance trends over a longer time interval.
