How do I set up the Switchee Resident app and connect my thermostat? 

Step-by-step guide to pairing your thermostat with the mobile app

Getting started

This guide explains how to download the Switchee Resident app, create your account, and connect your Switchee smart thermostat so you can control your heating (and hot water, where available) from your phone.

Step 1: Download the app

  1. Open the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Android)

  2. Search for Switchee Resident

  3. Download and open the app

  4. Tap “I am a new user”

  5. Enter your email address and create a password

    • You’ll need to type the password twice to confirm

Step 2: Confirm your email address

  1. Check your email for a 6-digit confirmation code

    • Please also check your junk or spam folder

  2. Enter the code into the Switchee app to verify your account

Step 3: Log in

  1. Log in using the email and password you just created

  2. Important: Login details are case-sensitive

Step 4: Connect your Switchee thermostat to the app

On your Switchee thermostat:

  1. Tap the screen to wake it

  2. Press the settings (spanner) icon in the top-left corner

  3. Select SmartPhone Pairing

  4. Wait for a pairing code to appear (this can take up to 30 seconds)

On your Switchee app:

  1. Enter the pairing code shown on your thermostat

  2. Tap PAIR

Once complete, your Switchee smart thermostat will be connected to the app.

You’re all set

You can now use the Switchee Resident app to:

  • Adjust your heating temperature

  • Turn heating (and hot water, where available) on or off

  • View and manage schedules remotely
